MUKAH – The Mukah District Operations Control Centre (PKOD) responded to an emergency call on 19 April 2026 involving the destruction of a wasp nest at a residential property.
The call, made by a member of the public, reported the presence of the nest lodged within the lattice of a house.
A team from the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Mukah was immediately dispatched to the location to carry out the operation.
Upon arrival, the squad assessed the situation and proceeded to remove the nest using ridsect spray combined with controlled fire techniques. The operation was completed successfully, ensuring the safety of the household and surrounding area.
Officials confirmed that no unwanted incidents occurred during the intervention. The swift action taken by APM Mukah highlights the unit’s readiness to respond to environmental hazards that pose risks to community safety.
Residents were reminded that attempting to remove insect nests without professional assistance can be dangerous, as improper handling may provoke aggressive behaviour from the insects. The Civil Defence Force encouraged the public to contact them directly for such emergencies.
APM Mukah reiterated its commitment to community protection under its motto, “APM Mukah, Nang Steady.”
