MERADONG – The Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) in Meradong District carried out an integrated crime prevention operation on Monday, 20 April 2026, targeting crime-prone areas across Bintangor and Meradong.
The operation, which ran from 8.00am to 5.00pm, involved a team of 16 officers led by Field Officer Insp. Mohd Salman Zulfitri bin Sheekandar and assisted by SI Jivson anak Rockson Chin Chang.
Patrols were conducted in several key locations, including Jalan Kelupu, Jalan Bakong, Taman Bintang, and other identified hotspots.
Police reported that a total of 70 individuals and 64 vehicles were inspected during the exercise. Seven summonses were issued for various traffic offences, though no arrests or seizures were recorded.
The checks were aimed at deterring criminal activity and ensuring compliance with traffic regulations. In addition to mobile patrols, roadblocks and snap checks were set up at the main entrance to Bintangor.
These measures were intended to increase police visibility and restrict the movement of individuals engaged in unlawful activities.
Officers noted that the heightened presence contributed to a stronger sense of security among residents.
The operation was part of ongoing efforts to combat crime in the district, with a particular focus on offences related to drugs, gambling, and immoral activities.
Authorities also highlighted the importance of reducing index crime cases and traffic violations, which remain a concern in the area.
Community policing initiatives such as this are seen as vital in maintaining public safety and reinforcing trust between law enforcement and residents.
By combining patrols, roadblocks, and targeted checks, the police aim to create a safer environment while discouraging criminal behaviour.
The Meradong District Police reiterated their commitment to safeguarding the community, stressing that integrated operations will continue to be carried out regularly.
