The session reviewed activities carried out throughout 2025 and outlined plans for the year ahead. Among the highlights was the upcoming MAKSAK Berlanggar Meja programme, scheduled for 17 April 2026.

The event, which has become a signature initiative, will involve all government departments and agencies in Sibu Division and is designed to foster closer engagement with the public.

Also present at the meeting were the Sibu Division Youth and Sports Officer and the Sibu PBSB Sports Unit Officer, reflecting the collaborative nature of the agenda.

Discussions centred on ensuring that planned activities are implemented effectively, with emphasis on welfare, sports development, and strengthening cooperation among members.

Officials expressed hope that the initiatives will have a positive impact on civil servants by improving wellbeing, encouraging active participation in sports, and fostering team spirit. The meeting underscored the importance of balancing welfare programmes with sporting activities to create a holistic approach to civil servant development.

MAKSAK has long played a role in promoting unity and camaraderie among government staff through sports and welfare programmes.

By combining recreational activities with welfare support, the council aims to enhance morale and encourage a healthy lifestyle among members.

The 2026 agenda reflects a broader vision of building stronger networks within the civil service, ensuring that welfare and sports initiatives contribute to both professional and personal growth.

With the Berlanggar Meja programme and other activities lined up, MAKSAK Sibu is set to continue its mission of promoting wellbeing and sportsmanship throughout the year.
