SARIKEI – The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) in Sarikei successfully handled a wildlife emergency on Saturday, 25 April 2026, after receiving a call about a golden ring snake inside a residence along Jalan Masjid.
The Alpha Squad was alerted at 9.28 am when a resident reported the presence of the reptile in one of the rooms of his home. Concerned for his safety, he sought immediate assistance from APM Sarikei.
Responding swiftly, the team arrived at the location equipped with specialised snake-catching tools. After a careful search, officers discovered the snake, which measured approximately six feet in length. Using equipment such as tongs and a snarl, the squad managed to capture the reptile safely.
The operation was completed without incident, and no injuries were reported among the officers or members of the public.
The successful capture demonstrated the readiness and professionalism of APM Sarikei in dealing with wildlife emergencies that pose risks to residents.
