MERADONG – Police in Meradong District conducted a motorcycle enforcement operation in Bintangor on 26 April 2026, aimed at tackling road offences and raising awareness among riders about the importance of adhering to traffic laws.
The initiative, carried out by the Royal Malaysia Police (IPD Meradong), focused on reducing offences commonly associated with motorcycles, which remain a significant contributor to road safety concerns.
Officers explained that the operation was designed not only to enforce the law but also to educate riders on responsible behaviour to safeguard all road users.
Throughout the exercise, police issued several summonses for violations such as riding without a valid licence, using modified exhaust systems, and failing to wear helmets.
These offences, authorities noted, pose risks not only to the riders themselves but also to the wider community, particularly when modifications create excessive noise and disrupt public order.
Police further emphasised the role of parents in monitoring their children’s use of motorcycles. They urged families to ensure that young riders do not operate vehicles without proper licences, always wear helmets, and avoid making unauthorised modifications.
Such vigilance, they said, is essential in preventing accidents and maintaining community safety. The operation forms part of a series of periodic enforcement measures that will continue across Meradong District.
