Saberkas, established decades ago as a youth movement in Sarawak, has consistently played a role in nurturing leadership and encouraging volunteerism. Branches across the state often serve as hubs for training, cultural activities, and outreach programmes.

The Tellian and Balingian branches have been particularly active in promoting initiatives that align with regional development priorities, including skills training and environmental awareness.

The gathering also provided an opportunity for members to reaffirm their commitment to collaboration. Attendees expressed optimism that the new term would bring fresh energy to ongoing projects and create opportunities for young people to contribute meaningfully to society.

The atmosphere was described as one of togetherness, reflecting the organisation’s long-standing ethos of unity and service.

Local observers noted that the event was not only ceremonial but also strategic, as it set the tone for the next three years of activities.

By combining the formal opening with a social gathering, organisers aimed to strengthen bonds among members while highlighting the organisation’s relevance in contemporary community life.
