KUCHING – The Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR) received a courtesy visit from the Association of Licensed Surveyors Sarawak (ACLS) on 27 April 2026, led by Datu Sudarsono.
The meeting was held to explore opportunities for closer collaboration and to reinforce strategic ties between the two organisations.
The visit focused on strengthening cooperation in infrastructure development, aligning with JKR Sarawak’s objectives and long-term direction.
Both parties discussed ways to enhance project implementation and ensure that development initiatives meet the needs of the state and its people.
During the dialogue, emphasis was placed on addressing current challenges in project delivery and identifying solutions that could improve efficiency.
The discussions also highlighted the importance of aligning joint efforts with Sarawak’s Post COVID-19 Development Strategy 2030 (PCDS 2030), particularly in ensuring sustainability and resilience in infrastructure projects.
JKR Sarawak reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with strategic stakeholders such as ACLS, recognising that partnerships between government agencies and professional associations are vital for holistic and inclusive development.
The department stressed that collaboration would help ensure projects are delivered effectively, sustainably, and in line with the state’s aspirations.
ACLS, representing licensed surveyors across Sarawak, plays a crucial role in supporting infrastructure planning and implementation.
Its expertise in surveying and land management complements JKR’s technical responsibilities, creating a strong foundation for joint initiatives.
