KUCHING, April 28 — Efforts to locate a missing man in Kuching have gained wider attention as Batu Kitang assemblyman Lo Khere Chiang stepped forward to support the victim’s family and called on the public to assist in the search.
The case involves Carlos Vaildon David, 26, a salesman from Kota Samarahan, who has been reported missing since April 25. The Royal Malaysia Police confirmed that a missing person report was lodged, and investigations are currently ongoing.
Kuching District Police Chief Alexson Naga Chabu said Carlos was last seen leaving his residence at Taman Desa Permai along Jalan Dato MPHD Musa. He was described as wearing a black T-shirt, trousers, black tracksuit bottoms, and black sports shoes from New Balance at the time of his disappearance.
Police also revealed that Carlos was driving a Perodua Myvi with registration number QAQ5824 when he went missing. The vehicle has yet to be located, and authorities are working to trace its movements as part of the investigation.
YB Dato Ir Lo Khere Chiang, who represents the N13 Batu Kitang constituency, expressed concern over the situation and extended his support to the family. He urged members of the public to remain alert and to report any information that could assist authorities in locating the missing individual.
According to him, community cooperation remains a key factor in resolving such cases, especially during the early stages of a disappearance. He also encouraged local residents to share verified information responsibly to avoid confusion while helping the search effort.
The case is being handled by the Kuching District Police Headquarters with assistance from the Sekama Police Station. ASP Simon anak Renang is among the officers coordinating information gathering and public responses.
