SELANGAU – The Selangau District Civil Defence Force responded to an emergency call on 28 April 2026 after residents reported the presence of an insect nest at a home in Rh. Petrous Ambun, Jalan Bukut-Selangau.
Upon arrival, the squad discovered a nest of wasp-type insects located under the ceiling at the back of the house.
The insects were described as being the size of a ping-pong ball, posing a potential danger to the occupants.
The team immediately carried out extermination work using Ridsect spray, ensuring the safety of residents and preventing further risk.
The operation was completed smoothly, and the situation was declared safe and under control.
Authorities reminded the public that wasp nests can be hazardous, particularly when located near residential areas.
Such infestations can lead to serious injuries if disturbed, making professional intervention essential.
The Selangau District Civil Defence Force emphasised its readiness to respond to emergencies involving environmental hazards and urged residents to report similar incidents promptly. Quick reporting allows officers to act swiftly and prevent harm to the community.
