KUCHING – The Director of State Security at the Sarawak State National Security Council, Mr Mohammad Haffizie bin Putit, welcomed a courtesy visit from the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) in Kuching during a meeting held on Monday morning.
The engagement was aimed at fostering mutual understanding and sharing experiences between the two sides, particularly in matters relating to social, political, and economic issues affecting communities in both countries.
The session provided an opportunity to strengthen bilateral ties and enhance cooperation in areas of common interest.
The Indonesian delegation was led by Abdullah Zulkifli, Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Kuching.
He was accompanied by Musa Derek Sairwona, Consular I; Ely Syafitri Handayani, Consular II; Tri Hernanda Reza, Immigration Technical Staff; and Louis Stefanus Gregory Kaunang, Police Technical Staff.
Their participation reflected Indonesia’s commitment to maintaining strong diplomatic and operational links with Sarawak.
Representatives from the Sarawak State National Security Council also attended the meeting. Among them were Mr Wazi bin Seman, Senior Assistant Director; Major Mulyadi bin Abd Wahid, Assistant Director of the Army; and DSP Dayang Rahmah, Assistant Director of the Police; as well as administrative officers Mr Mohamad Norhadie Sahari and Ms Siti Nurdiana bt Mohamed Tarmidzi.
The courtesy call highlighted the importance of dialogue and collaboration between Sarawak and Indonesia, particularly in addressing issues that affect both sides of the border.
By sharing knowledge and experiences, the meeting reinforced the value of cooperation in maintaining security, supporting economic growth, and strengthening social ties.
Such engagements are seen as vital in ensuring that both Sarawak and Indonesia continue to build resilient partnerships, especially in the face of evolving regional challenges.
The visit also reflects the broader commitment of both governments to enhance diplomatic relations and foster mutual respect between neighbouring communities.
