Investigations revealed that the incident occurred on 3 May 2026 at approximately midnight. The suspect, who is the complainant’s biological brother, allegedly acted aggressively while armed with a machete and issued threatening words. The behaviour reportedly caused fear for the complainant’s safety.

Further enquiries indicated that the confrontation stemmed from remarks made by the complainant, who had asked the suspect not to make noise inside the house.

Police confirmed that the suspect has a prior record linked to drug offences and had recently been released from prison.

During the investigation, officers seized a machete believed to have been used during the incident. Both parties were interviewed, and the crime scene was visited as part of standard procedures.

The case is being investigated under Section 506 of the Penal Code, which covers criminal intimidation. Bau District Police Chief PISUPT Mohd Haide bin A. Rahman stated that the arrest has effectively resolved the matter.

Police have reminded the public to remain vigilant in managing emotions and to avoid actions that could endanger themselves or others.

Authorities stressed that disputes should be handled calmly and within the boundaries of the law to prevent incidents that may compromise safety.

This case highlights the importance of community awareness and responsible behaviour in maintaining peace and security.

The Bau District Police reiterated their commitment to addressing threats promptly and ensuring the safety of residents.
