MUKAH – The Mukah District Operations Control Centre (PKOD Mukah) responded to an emergency call on Monday involving a crocodile trapped in a fishing net along a local beach.
The incident was reported as a wild animal catching case (MHL), with the complainant alerting authorities after spotting the reptile entangled.
Civil defence members were immediately dispatched to the site to assess the situation and ensure public safety.
Upon arrival, the team found the crocodile caught in the net. Using careful handling techniques, APM Mukah successfully freed the animal without causing harm.
The crocodile was released safely, preventing potential danger to both the reptile and nearby residents.
Officials highlighted that such cases demonstrate the importance of community cooperation in reporting wildlife incidents.
Quick communication between residents and emergency services allows for timely intervention, reducing risks to both humans and animals.
APM Mukah reaffirmed its readiness to respond to emergencies of all kinds, including wildlife encounters, medical cases, and disaster-related incidents.
