JULAU – The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) in Julau successfully destroyed a wasp nest at Rumah Lidoh, Sungai Sekerupok Luau, following an emergency report from the public on Tuesday evening.
At 7.15 pm, the Julau District Control and Operations Centre (PKOD) received a call alerting them to the presence of the nest near the longhouse. Concerned residents requested immediate assistance to prevent any risk to the community.
APM Julau deployed a team to the location, where officers identified the wasp nest and carried out the destruction using the Ridsect spray technique.
The operation was completed with additional cleaning to ensure the insects would not rebuild in the same area.
The swift intervention prevented potential harm to residents, as wasp stings can cause serious health issues, particularly for individuals with allergies.
The presence of nests near homes and communal spaces often raises safety concerns, making rapid response essential.
