Meradong Police Conduct Crime Prevention Operation Across Hot Spots

MERADONG – Police in Meradong carried out an Integrated Crime Prevention Operation on Wednesday, targeting several areas identified as crime and traffic hot spots across the district.

The operation was coordinated by Insp. Mohd Salman Zulfitri bin Sheekandar, who served as the Field Officer, alongside Assistant Field Officer SI Jivson anak Rockson Chin Chang.

A total of 16 personnel, including one senior officer and 15 other ranks, were deployed to ensure the exercise was conducted effectively.

Key locations under surveillance included Jalan Kelupu, Jalan KJD, Jalan Bakong, Jalan Kilang, Taman Bintang, Taman Alomara, Jalan Tulai, Taman Paris Height, Taman Vynyrd Residen, Kampung Melayu and Tanjung Genting.

Roadblocks and snap checks were also set up at the intersection of Jalan Kelupu and Jalan Bakong, a busy junction within Meradong.

The initiative was designed to strengthen police visibility, deter criminal activity, identify individuals wanted by authorities, and reduce traffic-related offences. Police confirmed that 92 individuals and 82 vehicles were inspected during the course of the operation.

As part of enforcement measures, six summonses were issued for traffic violations. Five were recorded under Pol.257, while one was issued under Pol.170A.

No arrests or seizures were made during the exercise, but authorities stressed that the checks were crucial in maintaining order and discouraging unlawful behaviour.

District police highlighted that such operations will continue periodically, reflecting their commitment to safeguarding public safety.

By focusing on areas with high community activity, officers aim to reassure residents and reduce opportunities for crime.

The operation also underscores the importance of traffic discipline, with police reminding motorists to comply with road regulations to avoid penalties.

Road safety remains a priority, particularly in districts where busy intersections and residential areas often see high vehicle movement.
