The Sri Aman Fire and Rescue Station received the emergency call at 10.59 am regarding the fire.

A team from the station was dispatched to the location using a Scania BME 7039 fire and rescue vehicle and a BMY 4446 Emergency Medical Rescue Services (EMRS) vehicle.

The operation was led by PBK II (TBK I) Edwin anak Jonani as the operations commander.

Upon reaching the location, firefighters found that the fire had broken out around the transmission line tower area belonging to SEB.

Personnel assessed the situation before beginning efforts to contain and extinguish the fire. The firefighting team was divided into two groups to tackle the blaze from different positions.

Two hose lines and two nozzles were deployed during the operation. Firefighters also used a transport pump to draw water from an available open water source.

The water source used during the operation was drain water located near the incident area.

In addition to directly attacking the fire, firefighters took steps to prevent the flames from spreading to nearby unburned vegetation.

A fire break was created by wetting areas that had not yet been affected by the fire. This was intended to reduce the risk of the flames advancing beyond the immediate area around the transmission tower.

Three personnel from Sarawak Energy Berhad were also involved in the operation. The combined efforts allowed firefighters to successfully extinguish the fire.

Once the flames had been put out, personnel continued with checks around the affected area to ensure that the situation was safe.

Firefighting equipment was subsequently collected and inspected before the team prepared to leave the location.

After confirming that the equipment was in safe condition and that there was no further immediate threat, the firefighting team ended the operation.

The operations commander also advised the reporter at the scene to contact the Fire and Rescue Department again if the fire were to break out again.

The team then returned to the Sri Aman Fire and Rescue Station after completing the operation.

The incident involved an area around critical electricity transmission infrastructure operated by Sarawak Energy Berhad.

The response included both direct firefighting and preventive measures, with the creation of a fire break forming part of the effort to limit any potential spread.

The operation was handled by the Sri Aman Fire and Rescue Station with assistance from SEB personnel.

No further fire spread was reported after the blaze was extinguished and the firefighting team had completed its safety checks.
