Sarawak’s Jace Law Returns to MMA Spotlight After Long Hiatus

Sarawak’s Jace Law Returns to MMA Spotlight After Long Hiatus

KUCHING: Sarawakian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter Jace Law is set to return to the professional MMA scene in 2025, after a long-awaited hiatus. Law will represent Malaysia in a thrilling lightweight bout against Thailand’s Alexander Khan at RAGE MMA Malaysia’s main event. The fight is scheduled to take place at The Cage, LaLaport in Kuala Lumpur on February 22.

Jace Law first rose to fame in ONE Championship’s ONE Warrior Series, where his impressive performances earned him widespread recognition. However, his momentum was halted by the global COVID-19 pandemic, leading to the cancellation of his last match. After overcoming several personal and professional challenges, Law is now eager to make his comeback.

“I’m feeling good. My last fight was in ONE Championship’s ONE Warrior Series, but it got canceled due to COVID. I’ve been wanting to fight since then, but I had to overcome other commitments first. Now, I’m here to get back in there and prove to myself that I still have it,” Law said in an exclusive interview with Sarawak Tribune.

Law’s versatile fighting style is one of his key strengths. He is skilled in boxing, wrestling, Muay Thai, Kickboxing, and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ), making him a well-rounded and dangerous fighter inside the octagon. His upcoming opponent, Alexander Khan, is known for his own formidable skills, and Law is ready to face him head-on.

“He’s a formidable fighter and presents a real challenge, but I’m ready to face him,” Law commented, acknowledging the tough competition.

Beyond the fight itself, Law has a bigger vision for the future. He hopes to inspire a new generation of MMA fighters from Sarawak and showcase the untapped talent in the region. “The legacy I want to leave in MMA is to show that Sarawakians can fight. Whether it’s boxing, Muay Thai, or MMA, we have the talent here; we just need the opportunity and platform to showcase it,” he said.

As the event approaches, fans from Sarawak and across Malaysia are excited to see Jace Law’s return to the cage. His performance could mark the beginning of a new chapter for MMA in the region, inspiring future athletes and solidifying Sarawak’s place on the MMA map.
