According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the incident occurred at around 11.29 am, prompting an immediate response from the Bau fire station. The crash site, located on the Pan Borneo Highway approximately 31 kilometers from Bau town, presented a harrowing scene for first responders and bystanders alike.

Firefighters arrived to find the Proton Wira completely engulfed in flames. Initial investigations revealed that the vehicle had skidded off the road, collided with a drain wall, and subsequently burst into flames.

Both victims were promptly transported to Bau Hospital for medical treatment. However, their identities and the severity of their injuries remain undisclosed at the time of writing.

The Bomba team successfully extinguished the fire using water from their fire truck and conducted an overhaul operation to ensure the fire did not reignite. The entire operation was declared complete by 12.03 pm.
