Kuching, Sarawak – Taylor Louise, an 11-year-old vocal prodigy from Kuching, has brought glory to Sarawak and Malaysia with her recent triumph at the Asia Students Arts Festival (ASAF) International Final Round. Competing in the Vocal Pop category (10-11 years), Taylor secured the Champion title on January 11, 2025, at the prestigious Y Theatre Youth Centre in Hong Kong.
Taylor was the only Malaysian finalist in her category, outshining 18 other talented participants from across Asia. Her victory is not just a personal milestone but also a moment of pride for the nation. This win earns her the opportunity to represent Malaysia at the ASAF 10th Anniversary Winner Showcase, scheduled at the Royal College of Music in London from July 31 to August 5, 2025.
Expressing her gratitude, Taylor shared, “All I want is to gain experience and learn as much as possible.” She credited her family, friends, vocal coach, and supporters for their unwavering encouragement, emphasizing how this achievement fuels her passion for music.
The Asia Students Arts Festival, organized by First Education Hong Kong, celebrates its 10th year in fostering cultural exchange and nurturing young talents. The festival attracts participants from countries like Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, and Australia, making it a melting pot of artistic growth and diversity.
Taylor’s recent success adds to her growing list of accolades, including a gold medal at the 27th World Championships of Performing Arts (WCOPA). Her unwavering dedication and extraordinary talent continue to inspire young Malaysians.
