Pansar Berhad Secures RM478 Million Contract for Serian-Gedong Road

Pansar Berhad Secures RM478 Million Contract for Serian-Gedong Road

KUCHING, Jan 21 – Pansar Berhad, a prominent Main Market-listed company on Bursa Malaysia, has been awarded an RM478 million contract through its subsidiary, Perbena Emas Sdn Bhd (PESB). The contract involves designing and constructing a crucial dual carriageway highway linking Serian to Gedong.

In a statement filed with Bursa Malaysia, Pansar revealed that PESB received an official letter of acceptance from the Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR). The project, identified as the Serian-Gedong-Samarahan dual carriageway highway (Package 1: Simpang Rayang/Munggu Kopi/Tanah Puteh/Sebemban to Gedong District), will focus on Section 1B, constructing a new road from Simpang Tanah Puteh to Gedong Isthmus.

The 8.5-kilometre stretch will include a four-lane JKR R5 road (dual carriageway), complete with two bridges, an Autonomous Rail Transit (ART) reserve, bicycle tracks, utility corridors, road lighting, road furniture, and signage.

The contract, awarded via an invited tender process, is valued at RM477.68 million and is set for a 36-month period, with construction expected to commence in February 2025.

“This project is anticipated to positively impact the group’s earnings and net assets over the duration of the contract,” stated Pansar.

The contract highlights Pansar’s expertise in infrastructure development and is a significant step toward enhancing connectivity in Sarawak.

Despite this positive announcement, Pansar’s share price remained steady, closing unchanged at 57 sen per share with 65,900 shares traded today.

This dual carriageway project will enhance transportation infrastructure, promote regional development, and offer improved connectivity for the people of Sarawak.
