Woman Found Dead in MJC Batu Kawa Rental Room, Police Investigating

KUCHING (Feb 6): A woman in her 30s was found dead inside a rental room at MJC Batu Kawa this afternoon, sending shockwaves through the local community.

Padawan District Police Chief, Superintendent Mohd Irwan Hafiz Md Radzi, said the police received a report about the discovery at 2.16pm.

“A worker at the premises found the woman unconscious and immediately alerted the authorities. Paramedics who arrived at the scene confirmed she had passed away,” he said.

The deceased’s body was sent to the Forensic Unit at Sarawak General Hospital (SGH) for further examination. At this point, the case is classified as a sudden death (SDR) pending the outcome of a post-mortem investigation.

Superintendent Mohd Irwan has urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward and assist the police in their investigation.

“We appeal to the public not to speculate or spread unverified information that could disrupt the investigation process,” he said.

Residents living near MJC Batu Kawa expressed concern over the incident, with some calling for more safety measures in the area.

The police have reassured the public that they are conducting a thorough investigation and will update the public once more details are available.

The cause of death will only be confirmed after the post-mortem report is released. For now, authorities are focused on gathering evidence and statements from individuals connected to the case.
