KUCHING: Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Abang Johari Tun Openg paid his respects to his late parents at the Kuching City Mosque this morning. He visited the graves of his father, the late Tun Abang Haji Openg bin Abang Sapi’ee, and his mother, the late Toh Puan Dayang Masniah binti Abang Abdul Rahman.

The visit was a solemn moment for Abang Johari, who took time to reflect and pray at the gravesite. It is a tradition for many Malaysians to visit the graves of their loved ones, offering prayers and seeking blessings. This act also serves as a reminder of the importance of family values and respect for ancestors.

Tun Abang Haji Openg, the first Governor of Sarawak, played a significant role in the state’s early development. His legacy continues to be remembered, and Abang Johari’s visit highlights the strong family bond and deep-rooted values instilled in Sarawak’s leadership.

Abang Johari, who has been leading Sarawak’s development efforts, has often spoken about the inspiration he draws from his late father. His visit today further reflects his respect and gratitude for his parents’ sacrifices and contributions. – Sarawakku
