AirBorneo Unveils ‘Wings of Unity’ Logo as Symbol of Sarawak’s Global Vision

KUCHING – Sarawak-owned airline, AirBorneo, has officially launched its brand identity with the unveiling of its logo known as “Wings of Unity” during a ceremony at the Satria Pertiwi Complex here on Thursday.

The launch was officiated by Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, marking a significant milestone ahead of AirBorneo’s commencement of operations in January 2026.

Carrying the slogan “Borneo For You”, the new logo is designed to reflect AirBorneo’s mission to connect Sarawak with the world through purpose-driven travel, while celebrating the state’s culture and heritage. The airline also aims to become a bridge between communities and businesses across the continent. The brand identity highlights Sarawak’s colours and traditional motifs, symbolising unity, diversity, resilience and progress.

The “Wings of Unity” design draws inspiration from nature and the cultural heartbeat of Sarawak. Its fluid lines represent freedom, connectedness and innovation, much like a river that constantly moves forward to create new pathways. At the same time, it is rooted in the traditions of Sarawak, serving as a reminder of heritage while embracing modern solutions to shape the future.

Sarawak State Secretary and Chairman of AirBorneo Holdings Sdn Bhd, Datuk Amar Mohamad Abu Bakar Marzuki, said the logo is more than just a visual identity. He described it as a promise to connect Borneo with the world in a genuine, inclusive and purpose-driven manner, in line with the Premier’s vision of enhancing regional connectivity, economic growth and cultural pride.

The Sarawak Premier, in his address, praised AirBorneo as a symbol of confidence in the state’s growing position on the global stage. He said the airline will play a key role in supporting the Post-COVID-19 Development Strategy (PCDS 2030), particularly in the strengthening of ASEAN air connectivity, the creation of job opportunities, the improvement of infrastructure, and support for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) that contribute to Sarawak’s economic growth.

The ceremony was attended by Sarawak Deputy Premiers Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan and Datuk Amar Professor Dr. Sim Kui Hian, along with Sarawak Minister of Transport Dato Sri Lee Kim Shin, several Cabinet Ministers and Deputy Ministers, Sarawak Deputy Secretary to the Government (Economic Planning and Development) Dato Sri Dr. Muhammad Abdullah Zaidel and other dignitaries.

With its official logo now launched, AirBorneo is positioning itself not only as an airline but also as a symbol of Sarawak’s unity, progress and ambition to establish stronger connections with the world. — UKAS EDITION
