“With this comprehensive package, we anticipate more people coming to Sarawak for medical care, especially now that we have our own airline. AirBorneo will help bring in patients from Indonesia and other regions to receive quality treatment here,” he stated during the official opening of D Dentist Dental Clinic in Tabuan Jaya on Sunday.

Medical Tourism to Boost Sarawak’s Economy

The Premier emphasised Sarawak’s commitment to upgrading healthcare infrastructure, including medical and dental services. He announced the construction of three new state-of-the-art hospitals in Batu Lintang, Petra Jaya, and Tabuan Jaya, which are expected to be completed within the next three years.

“These hospitals will be of international standard, and we are partnering with specialised experts in the field. Once operational, they will not only attract patients from abroad but also doctors looking to practice in a cost-effective yet high-quality medical environment,” he added.

Better Transport and Infrastructure for Medical Tourists

To support the growing medical tourism sector, the Sarawak government is also prioritising transportation improvements, including the development of a new international airport and public transport upgrades.
