Although the situation has begun to recede slowly, authorities remain cautious and continue to observe developments closely.

The main access road leading to the affected longhouse was reported to be temporarily impassable to all vehicles. Despite this, residents were able to rely on alternative routes to move in and out of the area.

APM Betong confirmed that monitoring will continue to ensure the safety of the community and to provide timely updates should conditions worsen.

Flooding in rural Sarawak often poses challenges to mobility and daily activities, particularly in longhouse communities where access routes are limited.

Heavy rainfall can quickly lead to rising water levels, making roads unsafe and disrupting essential services.

In such circumstances, the role of APM becomes critical in safeguarding residents and coordinating emergency responses.

The Civil Defence Force has reiterated its commitment to maintaining vigilance and ensuring that residents are kept informed of any changes in the situation.

By maintaining a presence in affected areas, APM aims to reassure communities and provide immediate assistance if required.

Local authorities have also reminded residents to exercise caution and to avoid unnecessary travel through flooded areas.

Community cooperation is vital in reducing risks, and residents are encouraged to report any emergencies through the national hotline 999, which covers police, fire, medical, and civil defence services.
