At 7.15 pm, the Julau District Control and Operations Centre (PKOD) received a call alerting them to the presence of the nest near the longhouse. Concerned residents requested immediate assistance to prevent any risk to the community.

APM Julau deployed a team to the location, where officers identified the wasp nest and carried out the destruction using the Ridsect spray technique.

The operation was completed with additional cleaning to ensure the insects would not rebuild in the same area.

The swift intervention prevented potential harm to residents, as wasp stings can cause serious health issues, particularly for individuals with allergies.

The presence of nests near homes and communal spaces often raises safety concerns, making rapid response essential.

Authorities have reminded the public to remain vigilant and report similar cases promptly. Emergency services are equipped to handle insect-related hazards, ensuring that communities remain safe from potential threats.

APM Julau emphasised its commitment to readiness, speed, and integrity in safeguarding residents. Their role extends beyond disaster management to include environmental hazards such as dangerous insects and wildlife.

The incident highlights the importance of cooperation between the public and emergency services. Quick reporting allows trained personnel to respond effectively, reducing risks and maintaining community wellbeing.

Residents are encouraged to contact APM Julau directly via their 24-hour hotline at 011-4037-5527 or use the national emergency line 999 for immediate assistance.

The successful operation at Rumah Lidoh reflects the dedication of APM Julau in protecting lives and property, reinforcing their role as a trusted emergency response agency in Sarawak.
