KANOWIT – The Civil Defence Force (APM) Kanowit acted quickly after receiving a report of a fallen tree blocking Jalan Menyan early on March 20.
The incident, reported around 6:15 am, involved a tree obstructing the main road leading to Nibong Tada. The route, a 25-kilometre one-way stretch, posed a risk to motorists when blocked.
After receiving the call, APM Kanowit deployed a team to the scene. Officers pruned and cleared the tree, allowing traffic to move again safely. They later confirmed the situation was fully under control.
Authorities reminded the public that emergencies can be reported through the 999 hotline or directly to the district line at 0138150312.
The incident highlights how quick action helps keep roads safe, especially in rural areas where fallen trees are more common.
Residents expressed appreciation for the fast response, noting it helped prevent possible accidents and reduced disruption.
APM Kanowit also encouraged the public to report emergencies without delay. Quick information allows teams to respond faster and manage situations more effectively.
With the rainy season increasing the risk of fallen trees, drivers are advised to stay alert when travelling along forested and rural roads. The Civil Defence Force remains committed to responding quickly and keeping the community safe.
