APM Kuching Holds Fellowship Ceremony Honouring Service and Welcoming New Officer

KUCHING – The Sanjungan Budi fellowship ceremony took place in Kuching on Monday, 9 February 2026, in a warm and respectful atmosphere. The occasion marked both a farewell and a welcome, symbolising appreciation and continuity within the Malaysian Civil Defence Force Kuching unit (APM Kuching).

The evening dinner honoured Maj. (PA) Zulfaituri Bin Ramlee for his exemplary leadership, dedication and contributions during his service with APM Kuching. His efforts were recognised as having strengthened the organisation’s engagement with the community and enhanced its operational preparedness.

Besides paying tribute to Maj. Zulfaituri, the ceremony also acknowledged members who are moving on to new career paths. Attendees expressed hope that the experience, skills and values gained during their time with APM would continue to benefit society, reflecting the organisation’s commitment to developing individuals who serve with integrity and purpose.

The fellowship event also served to welcome Lt Col (PA) Ismail Bin Mahedin as the newly appointed Kuching District Civil Defence Officer. He received a warm reception, with expectations that he will carry out his responsibilities effectively and further strengthen cooperation within the department.

Speakers highlighted the importance of unity and teamwork in achieving organisational excellence. They stressed that strong collaboration and mutual support among members are essential to ensure efficiency and to keep APM responsive to the needs of the community.

The ceremony reflected APM’s broader ethos of balancing operational responsibilities with humanitarian values. By honouring past service while embracing new leadership, the organisation demonstrated its commitment to continuity, resilience and the welfare of its personnel.

APM Kuching also reminded the public that it remains ready to respond to emergencies. Residents are encouraged to contact the district office at 082-252940 / 082-252941 or dial the national emergency number 999 for immediate assistance.

The Sanjungan Budi fellowship ceremony thus stood as a testament to APM’s enduring spirit of service, honouring past contributions while looking ahead to future achievements under new leadership.
