LIMBANG – The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) in Limbang District has carried out routine monitoring of areas identified as vulnerable to flash floods and landslides.
The operation, conducted by the Charlie Squad on Monday evening, aimed to ensure community safety amid uncertain weather conditions.
The survey began at 8.23pm and covered several key locations, including Jalan Batu 3, Bukit Mas (near the Methodist Church), and Kampung Bukit Kota.
Officers inspected water levels, slopes, and ground structures to assess potential risks. At Jalan Batu 3, the water level was reported to be normal, with trends showing a decrease.
Meanwhile, checks at Bukit Mas and Kampung Bukit Kota confirmed that slopes and soil structures remained stable, with no signs of movement or collapse that could endanger residents.
APM Limbang emphasised that these proactive measures are essential in maintaining readiness and preventing disasters.
Regular patrols and inspections allow the department to respond quickly should conditions worsen. Officials reassured the public that the situation across all monitored locations was under control and safe.
However, they urged residents to remain alert to weather changes, particularly during periods of rainfall, and to report emergencies promptly.
The Civil Defence Force reiterated its commitment to preparedness, stressing that both assets and personnel are maintained at the highest level of readiness.
