MATU – The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Matu District successfully removed a bee nest in Muut Sekaan Village on 16 March 2026, following an emergency call received by the Matu District Operations Control Centre.
The complainant reported a bee nest on a tree branch behind their house, prompting immediate deployment of APM personnel. Upon arrival, the complainant guided the team to the exact location.
Using safety gear and specialised tools, officers destroyed the nest with an insecticide spray (Ridsect). The operation was completed smoothly, and the area was declared safe with no incidents.
Officials said such operations form part of APM’s ongoing commitment to public safety, particularly in residential areas where bee nests can pose risks to families and communities. Quick action ensured the threat was neutralised before it could cause harm.
Residents were reminded not to attempt removing bee nests themselves, as improper handling can result in stings or severe allergic reactions. They are advised to contact authorities for professional assistance.
The Muut Sekaan Village operation demonstrates APM’s proactive role in emergency response and community protection. Prompt interventions help build public confidence in the force’s ability to manage safety hazards.
Local residents expressed appreciation for the quick response, noting that the presence of APM officers provides reassurance when unexpected threats arise.
The agency reaffirmed its readiness to respond to similar calls, ensuring the community remains safe from wildlife-related dangers.
