APM Matu Safely Destroys Wasp Nest in Kuala Matu Hulu

MATU – The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Matu District successfully carried out an operation to remove a wasp nest in Kuala Matu Hulu Village on 16 March 2026, following an emergency call received by the Matu District Operations Control Centre.

The complainant reported a wasp nest under the roof of their house, prompting the immediate deployment of APM personnel. Upon arrival, the team inspected the area and confirmed the nest’s location.

Wearing safety gear and using proper equipment, officers destroyed the nest with an insecticide spray. The operation was completed smoothly, and the situation was declared safe without incident.

Officials said such operations form part of APM’s ongoing efforts to protect public safety, especially in residential areas where wasp nests pose risks to families. The swift response ensured the threat was neutralised before it could cause harm.

Residents were reminded not to attempt removing nests themselves, as improper handling can lead to stings or severe allergic reactions. Instead, they are advised to contact authorities for professional assistance.
