MUKAH – The Sarawak Civil Defence Force (APM) Mukah successfully destroyed a wasp nest found outside a residential home on 24 February 2026, following an emergency call from the public.
The incident was reported to the PKOD Mukah operations centre, prompting a team to be dispatched to the location. Upon arrival, members identified the nest, which was located at the end of the ceiling outside the house.
The wasp nest, approximately the size of a tennis ball, was safely destroyed using Ridsect spray and controlled fire techniques. The operation was carried out efficiently, ensuring the safety of the premises and its occupants.
Authorities confirmed that the situation was under control and no untoward incidents were reported. The swift response helped prevent potential risks to residents, as wasp stings can pose serious health hazards.
APM Mukah expressed appreciation to the public for promptly contacting them, stressing the importance of community vigilance in reporting such cases.
The agency reminded residents to immediately inform authorities if they encounter dangerous insect nests or wildlife to ensure professional handling and avoid unnecessary danger.
