APM Sarawak Holds First Periodic Meeting of 2026 to Strengthen Preparedness

KUCHING – The Sarawak Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) convened its Periodic Meeting No. 1 of 2026, providing a key platform to discuss strategies, improve coordination, and strengthen overall governance within the organisation.

The meeting brought together senior officers and departmental representatives to evaluate past performance, set objectives for the year, and ensure that APM Sarawak remains operationally prepared across all districts.

Discussions focused on strategic planning, operational coordination, and efficient management of resources, including finances, assets, and logistics.

A major emphasis was placed on promoting integrity and prudence in resource management to ensure smooth implementation of the department’s core responsibilities.

Officers also reviewed protocols to maintain readiness for emergency response, highlighting the importance of planning and proactive measures in disaster preparedness and civil defence operations.

The session served as a forum to align departmental priorities with national directives, encouraging a standardised approach to reporting, monitoring, and executing operations.

By strengthening governance and accountability, APM Sarawak aims to deliver more efficient and effective services to the public.

Officials reiterated the department’s guiding principle: “Ready to Quickly with Integrity”, underlining the organisation’s commitment to professionalism, prompt response, and ethical management in all aspects of its operations.

The Sarawak Public Relations and Documentation Unit stated that meetings such as this are vital for reinforcing internal coordination, enhancing operational efficiency, and ensuring that APM personnel are fully prepared to respond to emergencies while upholding public trust.

Through strategic planning and consistent oversight, APM Sarawak continues to prioritise readiness, safety, and excellence in service delivery for communities across the state.
