SELANGAU – The Civil Defence Force (APM) Selangau, supported by APM Sibu, carried out a clean water distribution operation on 6 April 2026 to assist residents affected by drought in the areas of Stapang and Nanga Tabalong.
The humanitarian effort involved coordinated logistics and manpower, with multiple agencies working together to ensure the smooth delivery of aid.
Among those participating were JKM Selangau, the Selangau District Office, Stapang Police, and RELA Selangau.
Their combined efforts ensured that residents received timely access to clean water supplies during the ongoing dry spell.
Authorities confirmed that the operation proceeded without complications, with water delivered directly to affected communities.
The initiative reflects the proactive role of APM in responding to local emergencies and safeguarding community welfare, particularly during periods of environmental stress.
Residents in Stapang and Nanga Tabalong expressed appreciation for the assistance, noting that the drought had disrupted daily routines and made access to clean water increasingly difficult.
The distribution programme provided immediate relief and highlighted the importance of inter-agency cooperation in addressing community needs.
Officials reminded the public that APM Selangau remains available around the clock to respond to emergencies.
Residents requiring urgent assistance are encouraged to contact the APM Selangau hotline at 084-891285, which operates 24 hours a day.
The drought relief operation underscores the resilience and preparedness of Sarawak’s emergency response teams.
By working together, agencies are able to deliver essential aid efficiently, ensuring that communities remain supported during challenging times.
