Road accidents remain a pressing concern in Sarawak, particularly along busy junctions and highways such as the Samarahan Expressway and Selangau routes.
Authorities have consistently reminded motorists to exercise caution, adhere to traffic regulations, and maintain vehicle safety standards to reduce risks.
Local enforcement agencies, including the Road Transport Department (JPJ) and police, have also intensified operations to curb traffic violations.
Campaigns such as Ops Gempur Kenyalang and other enforcement drives have been carried out across Sarawak to monitor compliance and penalise offenders. These initiatives aim to improve road discipline and safeguard communities.
Community awareness is equally vital. Residents are encouraged to report accidents promptly, as early notification enables emergency units to respond effectively.
APM Selangau has reiterated its commitment to serving the public under its guiding principle of “Ready, Fast, With Integrity”.
The Selangau Health Clinic continues to provide follow-up care for accident victims, ensuring that injuries are properly managed.
Medical staff emphasise the importance of early treatment, particularly for elderly patients who may face complications from seemingly minor injuries.
APM Selangau has urged the public to contact their hotline at 084-891285, which operates 24 hours a day, for emergencies requiring immediate intervention.
The agency remains dedicated to strengthening its readiness and ensuring that communities across Selangau district receive reliable support during crises.
