SIBU – The Sibu Division Civil Defence Force (APM), together with the Selangau District APM, visited SMK Rosli Dhoby on 5 February 2026 to discuss establishing a Civil Defence Institution Team (PISPA) at the school.
The initiative aimed to give students early exposure to the roles and functions of the Malaysian Civil Defence Force while encouraging participation in PISPA as part of their extracurricular activities.
During the session, APM officers conducted demonstrations and showcased equipment carried in the Sibu APM Light Rescue Vehicle (LRV).
These hands-on displays helped students better understand emergency response procedures and the tools used in rescue operations.
The visit was led by Maj (PA) Mohd Reduan bin Aini, Sibu District Civil Defence Officer, and attended by Lt. (PA) Luke Douglas anak Dongum, Selangau District Civil Defence Officer.
Their presence highlighted the importance of collaboration between divisions in promoting civil defence awareness among youth.
APM emphasised that the programme is part of broader efforts to instil emergency preparedness and resilience in schools, equipping students with knowledge and skills that could prove vital during emergencies.
The engagement also aims to motivate students to participate in PISPA, fostering a new generation of disciplined, community-minded individuals who may continue to join and strengthen the Civil Defence Force.
