APM Tanjung Manis Captures Python in Kampung Rajang

TANJUNG MANIS – The Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) Tanjung Manis District successfully captured a python measuring about 0.5 metres during an operation in Kampung Rajang on 11 February 2026.

The incident began when the public reported the sighting at 12.45 pm. Within minutes, three APM members were dispatched and arrived at the residence by 1.00 pm.

Upon arrival, the team located the snake in the residential area and safely captured it using the pincer method. The operation was completed smoothly, with no injuries or property damage reported.

APM emphasised that rapid responses like this are part of its ongoing commitment to community safety. Residents were reminded to contact authorities immediately if they encounter poisonous or dangerous animals, as professional intervention is crucial to prevent accidents.

Officials noted that snakes in residential areas, especially in rural communities, can pose significant risks. Quick action by APM helps protect residents and maintain public confidence in emergency services.

The successful capture demonstrates APM’s readiness and efficiency in handling wildlife-related emergencies. The department reaffirmed its role as a frontline agency in safeguarding lives and property.

Residents of Kampung Rajang welcomed the swift response, acknowledging the importance of APM’s presence in addressing such threats. The operation also highlights the need for vigilance and cooperation between the public and civil defence authorities.
