Apple has launched its most diverse iPhone line up to date, introducing the revolutionary iPhone Air alongside the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, and iPhone 17 Pro Max. The new series, announced on September 9, 2025, features significant design, performance, and camera advancements, marking Apple’s biggest refresh in years.
The standout addition is the iPhone Air, a sleek, ultra-thin device measuring just 5.6mm thick, Apple’s slimmest iPhone ever.
Despite its lightweight titanium frame and compact design, it packs the high-performance A19 Pro chip, a 6.5-inch Super Retina XDR display with ProMotion, and Ceramic Shield protection on both front and back for enhanced durability.
The iPhone Air features a single 48MP Fusion main camera capable of 2x optical-quality zoom and an 18MP Centre Stage front camera for flexible framing and dual-capture video. Priced at $999, it replaces the Plus model in Apple’s line-up.
The iPhone 17 base model retains its $799 starting price but doubles entry storage to 256GB. It sports a 6.3-inch ProMotion display with Ceramic Shield 2, a brighter 3,000-nit peak brightness, and upgraded dual 48MP rear cameras.
The A19 chip delivers 20% faster performance than its predecessor, while the new Centre Stage front camera enhances selfies and video calls.
For professionals, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max feature a redesigned aluminium unibody with integrated vapour chamber cooling for 40% better sustained performance during intensive tasks.
Both models boast triple 48MP cameras, including a 8x optical zoom telephoto lens Apple’s longest ever, and support advanced video features like ProRes RAW and genlock for filmmakers. The Pro Max offers up to 39 hours of battery life, the best in any iPhone.
All models run iOS 26 with Apple Intelligence capabilities, including Live Translation and enhanced privacy features. Pre-orders begin September 12, with availability starting September 19.
