BINTULU — The Bintulu Development Authority (BDA) continues to place strong emphasis on staff welfare with the successful organisation of the Back to School Aid Presentation Session 2026, held at the Wisma Bintulu Auditorium on Monday.
The programme was organised as part of BDA’s ongoing welfare initiatives aimed at easing the financial burden of its staff, particularly in preparing their children for the new school year. As the cost of schooling continues to rise, such assistance is seen as timely and meaningful for many families within the organisation.
A total of 107 BDA staff members benefited from the aid this year. The assistance is intended to help cover basic school necessities, allowing parents to focus on their children’s education without additional financial pressure at the start of the academic year.
The presentation ceremony was officiated by the Deputy General Manager of Bintulu Development Authority, Tuan Haji Abdul Rahim Bin Abdullah. In his address, he emphasised that the well-being of employees remains a key priority for the management, as staff play an important role in driving the authority’s development goals and public service responsibilities.
He noted that initiatives such as the Back to School Aid reflect BDA’s commitment to caring for its workforce beyond the workplace. According to him, a supportive and understanding management-staff relationship helps create a positive working environment, which in turn contributes to better productivity and organisational harmony.
The event also served as a platform to strengthen ties between management and staff, reinforcing the spirit of unity within the BDA family. Many recipients expressed appreciation for the assistance, describing it as a practical form of support that helps reduce year-end and early-year expenses.
BDA has long been known for implementing staff-focused programmes that promote welfare, mutual respect, and a sense of belonging among employees. The Back to School Aid Presentation Session is one of several initiatives designed to ensure that staff members feel valued and supported.
As the session concluded, hopes were expressed that this meaningful programme will continue in the years ahead. BDA management believes that sustained welfare efforts are essential for the long-term development and well-being of its employees and their families, in line with the authority’s broader mission of community and regional development.
