Officiated by Telang Usan Assemblyman Dato Dennis Ngau, the initiatives in Kampung Daleh Long Pelutan/ Long Miri and Long Pillah will provide a reliable clean water source to approximately 5,400 people across more than 400 households, alongside local schools and clinics.

Dato Dennis emphasized that consistent access to purified water is fundamental for community well-being and the efficient operation of essential services.

He also highlighted its potential to stimulate local economic activities in sectors like agriculture, small business, and tourism.

The projects, implemented by the Regional Corridor Development Authority (RECODA), will draw raw water from Sungai Baram and Sungai Suan.

Each facility will utilize a slow sand filtration system for treatment before distributing water through an extensive pipeline network.

Additional infrastructure will include a powerhouse, standby generators, solar panels, and storage tanks for both treated and rainwater.

As a member of the Highland Development Agency (HDA) Board, Dato Dennis urged contractors, agencies, and community members to collaborate closely to ensure the projects are completed on time, meet quality standards, and deliver sustainable benefits.

The ceremony was attended by local leaders including the Political Secretary to the Sarawak Premier, Dominic Nyurang, and HDA Regional Director Juan Ubit.
