YB Lo Khere Chiang Hands Over MRP Allocations to 36 Batu Kitang Associations

Batu Kitang – Community spirit in Batu Kitang was once again highlighted as YB Dato Lo Khere Chiang met with representatives from 36 associations to hand over their Minor Rural Project (MRP) allocations.

The event was filled with warm exchanges of handshakes, smiles, and heartfelt conversations, reflecting the close bond between the elected representative and the community. According to YB Lo, the allocations serve as vital support for associations that dedicate their time and effort to serving the people in Batu Kitang.

“Every handshake, every smile, and every story shared reminds me why community matters. Batu Kitang is strong because of the people who care and serve selflessly,” he said during the presentation ceremony.

The MRP allocations are part of the government’s initiative to assist local associations in carrying out activities, maintaining facilities, and ensuring their respective communities benefit from better resources. Many of the associations present represent diverse groups, from youth and women’s associations to cultural and welfare bodies.

Community leaders expressed their appreciation, saying the funds will allow them to continue their outreach programmes and strengthen community bonds. Several noted that such support helps ensure local traditions, welfare services, and grassroots efforts can continue to thrive.

YB Lo added that his focus has always been on building a strong, united Batu Kitang where people come together to help one another. “With the community, for the community — this has always been our guiding principle,” he said.

The handover of allocations is a reminder that development is not just about infrastructure, but also about empowering people and organisations that work tirelessly behind the scenes to uplift society.

As Batu Kitang grows, the role of associations and community leaders will remain essential in ensuring unity and progress for all.
