KUCHING — The Sarawak Government’s Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants continue to serve as a vital support system for grassroots initiatives, with YB Dato Ir Lo Khere Chiang, ADUN for N.13 Batu Kitang, presenting allocations to non-governmental organisations (NGOs) and community groups in his constituency.
The grants, handed over in a simple yet meaningful ceremony, aim to uplift the lives of the people by strengthening community programmes, upgrading facilities, and empowering social initiatives that directly benefit the local residents.
Dato Ir Lo Khere Chiang highlighted that the MRP grants are not merely financial assistance but an investment in the people. “These grants are designed to ensure that our communities continue to grow stronger. They provide support to NGOs and groups who are working tirelessly at the grassroots level to improve lives and create opportunities,” he said.
Among the recipients were local associations, educational groups, and community-based organisations that run programmes ranging from youth development activities to welfare support and cultural initiatives.
