Community Support Surges at Batu Lintang Mobile Service

Community Support Surges at Batu Lintang Mobile Service

KUCHING – The Batu Lintang Branch once again drew a strong response during its Mobile Service programme held on 16 November, as residents turned up in even larger numbers compared to the previous session. The initiative, carried out on Sunday, showed how much the community values direct and accessible assistance.

Following the overwhelming turnout at the earlier programme, Team Dong Ge made extra preparations to ensure smoother service for everyone. More staff, better planning and additional seating were arranged to improve crowd flow and comfort. Even with all these efforts, the turnout still went beyond expectations.

The services offered included applications and assistance for the Kenyalang Gold Card, Senior Citizen Health Benefit and the Sumbangan Tunai Rahmah (STR) Cash Aid. These are among the most sought-after forms of support, especially for senior citizens and families who rely on simple, direct guidance when dealing with aid applications.

Residents began lining up early in the morning, long before the counters opened. The queues grew quickly, filling the area with people eager to complete their applications. Despite the crowded conditions, the atmosphere remained orderly and friendly. Team Dong Ge members continuously brought out more chairs to make sure senior citizens and other residents could sit comfortably while waiting.

The volunteers and officers worked steadily throughout the day, taking time to explain each service and ensure no one was left behind. Many residents expressed their appreciation for having such assistance brought directly to their neighbourhood, saving them time and reducing the hassle of travelling to different offices.

These back-to-back mobile sessions reflect a clear community need. The Batu Lintang Branch and Team Dong Ge have shown commitment to meeting that need by delivering practical help straight to the people. Their efforts highlight how grassroots initiatives can make a real difference, especially for senior citizens and households facing financial pressure.

SUPP Batu Lintang Branch thanked all residents for their patience and cooperation, as well as the team for their dedication and hard work.
