Fifteen individuals, including 12 men and three women, were also checked. Authorities confirmed that no arrests were made during the operation.

Traffic enforcement formed a key part of the initiative. Four summonses were issued for offences including noisy exhaust systems, missing side mirrors, and registration plates that did not comply with regulations. Officers emphasised that such measures are necessary to maintain order and reduce risks to road users.

The operation proceeded smoothly without any untoward incidents. Police presence at Serikin Market was intended not only to enforce the law but also to reassure traders, visitors, and residents that safety remains a priority.

The market, known for its cross-border trade and weekend crowds, has long been a focal point for enforcement activities due to its strategic location near the Indonesian border.

According to police, the initiative reflects the Royal Malaysia Police’s (PDRM) wider commitment to strengthening community confidence and preventing crime in public spaces.

Similar operations have been conducted across Sarawak in recent years, targeting areas with high foot traffic and cross-border movement.

Authorities highlighted that such integrated operations are part of a broader strategy to ensure that public safety standards are consistently upheld.

By combining traffic enforcement with crime prevention checks, police aim to reduce potential risks while maintaining a visible presence in areas of concern.
