BAU – The Bau District Police Traffic Division (BSPTD Bau) carried out a comprehensive enforcement and traffic control operation on Thursday, 21 May 2026, between 11.30 am and 3.00 pm.
The patrols covered several major routes, including Jalan Bau-Kuching, Jalan Bau-Serikin, Jalan Bau-Batu Kawa, Jalan Bau-Lundu, Jalan Jambusan, and Jalan Siniawan, as well as the town centre of Pekan Bau.
The operation was aimed at ensuring traffic conditions remained safe and orderly while preventing accidents and deterring street gang activities.
Throughout the assignment, officers conducted inspections of both vehicles and individuals. A total of 20 vehicles and 22 people were checked during the operation, reflecting the police’s commitment to maintaining vigilance across the district.
Enforcement action was also taken against traffic offenders. Three Pol.257 summonses were issued for various violations, underscoring the importance of compliance with road regulations to safeguard public safety.
Police noted that such measures are necessary to maintain smooth traffic flow and reduce risks associated with careless driving.
Weather conditions during the patrol were reported to be favourable, with clear skies and dry roads, allowing officers to carry out monitoring effectively.
The Bau District Police Headquarters reaffirmed its dedication to continuous enforcement and monitoring efforts.
Authorities stressed that regular patrols are essential in ensuring the safety of road users and maintaining public confidence in law enforcement.
Community cooperation remains a vital component of these initiatives. Police have encouraged residents to comply with traffic laws and provide information that may assist in preventing crime or unsafe practices.
By working together, the community and law enforcement can ensure Bau remains a safe and orderly district.
Local residents have expressed appreciation for the visible police presence, noting that such patrols help deter unlawful behaviour and promote a sense of security.
The initiative also reflects broader efforts across Sarawak to strengthen community policing and reinforce public order.
BSPTD Bau has pledged to continue implementing similar operations in the future, ensuring that enforcement and monitoring remain consistent.
The message is clear: road safety and public order are priorities, and law enforcement will act decisively to uphold them.
