Bintangor Futsal Field Completed Under RTP with RM100,000 Allocation

BINTANGOR – The newly built futsal field in Bintangor Town has been officially completed and is now open for use by the local community.

The project, carried out under the Rural Transformation Programme (RTP) with an allocation of RM100,000, was initiated to provide better sports facilities for residents, particularly young people.

Meradong State Assemblyman (ADUN), Datuk Ding Kuong Hiing, inspected the site on Monday and expressed satisfaction with the outcome.

“I am satisfied with the condition of this futsal field, which is now more perfect and comfortable for use by the surrounding residents, especially the youth,” he said.

The upgraded facility features a flatter playing surface, complete with goal posts and nets, making it suitable for hosting futsal competitions as well as recreational activities.

To further enhance usability, the field has been fitted with solar-powered lighting, enabling matches and community events to be held safely at night.

Datuk Ding highlighted that the project was completed ahead of schedule and includes a protective fence to safeguard equipment and reduce the risk of vandalism.

He noted that the initiative reflects the state government’s commitment to improving rural infrastructure and promoting healthy lifestyles through sports.

He encouraged residents to make full use of the facility, not only for futsal but also for other beneficial activities that could strengthen community ties.

“This field should be utilised to organise healthy and positive programmes for the benefit of the local community,” he added.

The futsal field is part of a broader effort to enhance sports infrastructure in Meradong District, complementing other state-funded projects such as the planned upgrading of the Bintangor Sports Complex, which has received allocations under the 12th Malaysia Plan.

These initiatives are expected to provide long-term benefits by nurturing local sporting talent and encouraging active participation in recreational activities.

Community leaders have welcomed the completion of the futsal field, noting that it provides a safe and accessible space for young people to engage in sports.

The facility is also seen as a step towards reducing social issues by offering constructive outlets for youth energy and creativity.

With the field now operational, Bintangor residents can look forward to more organised tournaments, training sessions, and community events that will contribute to both physical wellbeing and social cohesion.
