KUCHING — A total of 100 pints of blood were successfully collected during a blood donation campaign held this morning at Aeroville Mall, demonstrating the strong spirit of community among local residents.
The event, organised by the Youth Section of the Kuching Chiang Chuan Association, was held under the Jiwa@Komuniti initiative of Komuniti Madani Taman Hui Sing. A total of 109 individuals registered to donate, with an impressive 91.74 percent success rate recorded, resulting in 100 successful donors.

Present to officiate and lend support to the campaign was Pemanca Tan Kun Gee, who commended the efforts of the organisers and volunteers for their commitment to a life-saving cause.
Also in attendance was Kuching South City Council (MBKS) Mayor Dato Wee Hong Seng, whose presence served as a morale boost for both the organisers and the donors. His physical support at the venue underscored the importance of such public health initiatives and the value of community engagement.
In a statement, the organiser expressed their appreciation to all parties involved. “We sincerely thank our co-organiser, The Federation of Kuching, Samarahan & Serian Division Chinese Associations Youth Section, and the Sarawak General Hospital Blood Bank, who made this campaign a smooth and successful one,” said a spokesperson from the association.
The event also received support from Aeroville Mall, Jabatan Penerangan Malaysia Kuching Division, Komuniti Madani Taman Hui Sing, and several other generous sponsors whose contributions were vital to the programme’s success.
Campaigns like these not only help hospitals maintain critical blood supply levels but also foster the Madani spirit of caring and cooperation among Malaysians.
