Borderland Music Festival 2025 Returns to SCV in September

Borderland Music Festival 2025 Returns to SCV in September

KUCHING – The Sarawak Cultural Village (SCV) has been confirmed as the host venue for the 2025 Borderland Music Festival, scheduled for September 5th and 6th.

Now in its third year, the event is anticipated to attract an audience of *20,000* attendees across its two-day run, signifying substantial growth for the electronic music and cultural showcase.

Representing the Minister for Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts, Deputy Minister Datuk Sebastian Ting Chiew Yew highlighted the festival’s rapid expansion.

The event debuted in Miri in 2023 with 3,000 guests, before moving to Kuching last year, where attendance doubled to 6,000. “This year we are expecting 20,000.

Borderland reflects Sarawak’s readiness to claim a place on the global stage of modern festivals,” Ting stated, framing the event as a major driver for tourism and the local economy.

The festival lineup is set to feature over *60* musical acts from 15 different nations. International artists like Da TweekazDarren Styles, and Beauz will perform alongside regional and local talents, including Whisnu Santika and Sarawak’s Belle Sisoski.

Beyond the music, the program will include cultural performances, culinary showcases, and interactive workshops. A notable addition for this edition is a pioneering 360° stage experience sponsored by Heineken.

Organized by Borderland Events Sdn Bhd and with the Ministry of Tourism, Creative Industry and Performing Arts (MTCP) as its main sponsor, the festival is also backed by several corporate partners.

Ting encouraged both residents and visitors to attend, noting that the event is a community-focused platform designed to elevate local artists and stimulate economic activity for hotels and businesses.
