KUCHING – A newly introduced credit card is poised to streamline air travel and digital financial transactions for users in the region.
The Borneo Credit Card, launched by Affin Bank in a strategic partnership with airline carrier AirBorneo, aims to create a seamless digital financial ecosystem for consumers.
Sarawak Premier, Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri (Dr) Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari Tun Datuk Abang Openg, highlighted the collaboration’s role in enhancing convenience for cardholders, particularly in purchasing flight tickets as the airline expands its network across ASEAN nations.
The Premier elaborated on the initiative during the grand opening of Affin Bank’s Hikmah Exchange branch on Tuesday.
He emphasized that the partnership allows travelers to directly buy air tickets using the card, simplifying the booking process.
Beyond travel benefits, the project is designed to encourage broader adoption of digital financial services and support regional economic growth.
The Premier noted that such innovations are critical for integrating digital solutions into everyday life and stimulating the economies of Sarawak and Borneo.
This development aligns with AirBorneo’s previously stated ambitions to extend its flight routes to several Southeast Asian destinations.
Affin Bank has concurrently reaffirmed its dedication to developing accessible and community-oriented financial products.
