BSPT IPD Kuching Officers Lend Quick Help to Stranded Motorists Near Upland Roundabout

KUCHING, 4 Nov – The quick-thinking and caring attitude of members from the BSPT IPD Kuching once again proved that the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) is always ready to serve and protect the community.

Earlier today, a group of police personnel from the Kuching District Police Headquarters (IPD Kuching) noticed a vehicle stranded by the roadside near the Upland Roundabout due to a mechanical breakdown. Without hesitation, the officers immediately stopped to assist the driver, ensuring both the safety of the motorist and other road users in the busy area.

Their prompt action drew the attention of several passing motorists, who praised the officers for their willingness to help even during patrol duty. The officers assisted in managing traffic flow while checking on the driver’s condition and helping to move the vehicle to a safer spot.

A police spokesperson said such acts of service reflect the department’s ongoing commitment to community policing, where officers are encouraged to be proactive in engaging and assisting the public whenever needed.

“This shows that the police and the community are not separate — we work hand in hand to keep everyone safe. Small acts of help like this strengthen public trust in the police force,” the spokesperson said.

The swift response by the BSPT IPD Kuching team not only prevented potential traffic congestion but also ensured that no one was put at risk.

This incident highlights the Royal Malaysia Police’s dedication to upholding safety and community care beyond enforcement duties — demonstrating that ‘Police and Community Are Not Separate’ is more than just a slogan, but a real practice seen on the ground every day.
