Caring Hearts Unite: Local Students and Clubs Help SSPCA Shelter

Caring Hearts Unite: Local Students and Clubs Help SSPCA Shelter

KUCHING, 3 March 2025 — The Sarawak Society for Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SSPCA) is giving a big shoutout to several local school clubs for their heartwarming kindness and hands-on support at the shelter. Their recent contributions of time, effort, and donations are helping SSPCA continue their important work of caring for animals in need.

On 16 February, the Leo Club of SMK Jalan Arang showed up at SSPCA with a big heart and even bigger help. They generously donated rice and spent the day helping the shelter with cleaning activities. From sweeping floors to washing areas where the animals stay, the young volunteers gave their energy and smiles to make the shelter a cleaner and more comfortable place for the animals.

The Scout Club and Red Crescent Club from Chung Hua Middle School No. 1 also stepped in with helping hands and caring hearts. These dedicated students not only cleaned and washed the walls of the shelter but also brought along rice donations and contributed some cash to support the shelter’s daily needs.

SSPCA has always relied on the kindness of the community to continue their mission of rescuing, sheltering, and rehoming animals. With limited resources and growing numbers of stray and abandoned animals, every act of generosity makes a real difference. Contributions like rice, cleaning help, and even small cash donations go a long way in making sure the animals are well-fed, safe, and healthy.

In a heartfelt message, SSPCA extended their deepest appreciation to the students and clubs involved, calling their support “instrumental” in ensuring the welfare of the animals in SSPCA’s care.

For other schools, clubs, and individuals who wish to contribute or volunteer, SSPCA encourages them to visit the shelter and join the community effort to care for Kuching’s stray and rescued animals. – SSPCA
